DAY 1 GUATEMALA / SAYAXCHE / CEIBAL / PETEXBATUN
Breakfast on your own, 6:00 am transfer to airport to board for short airflight to Santa Elena, Petén. Transfer overland to the frontier town of Sayaxche, on the banks of the río Pasión. Board outboard boat for upstream travel to the site of Ceibal. All morning at the site to study the unusual stelae and experience the surrounding rainforest’s flora and fauna. Return to boat for trip to the Lake Petexbatun and the jungle lodge, Posada Petexbatun. Dinner.

DAY 2 PETEXBATUN / aguateca
Breakfast, board boat for travel to the site of Aguateca
All day to explore the intriguing ruins of Aguateca. Lunch en route. All afternoon to walk in the protected jungle, visit the plazas and experience the natural cliff boundaries that eventually lead to it's demise. Return to boat for short trip to lodge. Late afternoon free for fishing or relaxing along the banks of the Lake Petexbatun. Dinner and accommodations on the lake’s shore.

Day 3 PETEXBATUN / PUNTA DE CHIMINO / FLORES / GUATEMALA
Breakfast, and early morning to explore the ruins of Punta de Chimino where a 45' wall and manmade moat was constructed to protect this small but surprisingly rich city. Lunch and return to Sayaxche for overland transfer to Flores for afternoon flight to Guatemala City. Lunch en route.
