Mar-June
DAY 1 Meet at airport to board early morning flight to Santa Elena, Peten. Transfer overland to the site of Uaxactun. Start the tour of the site of Uaxactun. Known for its temple complex in Group E where certain lines of site on the different pyramids pass through the point of sunrise during the equinoxes and soltices of the seasons. This suggests that these structures may have been designed to serve as observatories, or at least as calendar markers. We will visit all seven groups, located on top of natural hills. Lunch at the site. Afternoon visit local artisan eco-touristic center. Dinner and overnight at the eco-lodge El Chiclero which provides benefit for the Uaxactun community.

Day 2 Transfer overland by jeeps to reach the “Lost City of the Mayas”, Rio Azul. Bag lunch en route. Arrive at site, afternoon exploration of the overgrown mounds and temples of this ancient riverside city. Dinner and camp within the site.

Day 3 Breakfast, all morning devoted to further exploring this sites hidden treasures. Return to camp for lunch. Transfer overland, (23 km) to the lesser known, but important site of El Kinal. Return to camp for dinner.

Day 4 Breakfast and break camp for return transfer to Uaxactun. Dinner and overnight at the eco-lodge El Chiclero.

Day 5 Transfered to Tikal. Tour visiting Complex Q, Main Plaza, 7 Temples, Lost World, Temples IV. Lunch at the hotel. Visit to the Ceramic Museum and Lithic Museum. 2:00 p.m. transfer to the airport to catch late afternoon return flight to Guatemala.
