Depart from your hotel and transfer to the indigenous town of Chichicastenango , renowned for its most colorful market. Visiting the Church of Santo Tomas (a whitewashed colonial structure built around 1540) wherein the Mayan Quiche Indians celebrate both Catholic and pagan rites. Afterwards we drive to Lake Atitlan , one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, where we will stop to appreciate the view from a vantage point and then return to Guatemala City .
