Deep Sea Fishing on the Pacific side of Guatemala
is consider one of the best spots in the world to catch a
high number of sail fish. The strict catch and release policy
of the big Sail Fish and Marlins have allowed it to maintain
the population at high levels.
One can also enjoy reeling in Dolphin fish
otherwise known as Mahi-mahi, red snapper, gruper (for real
deep lines) and Jack Gravel.
The Rivers of the Atlantic side of Guatemala
also have great sport fishing. Tarpon or snook are among the
favorite.
Rainbow trout is not native to Guatemala
but one can find developed trout fisheries in the higher altitudes
of Guatemala. In beautiful areas surrounding by lush vegetation
and birds one can fish for lunch and supper.
