The Venus was represented in Heiroglyphs to be associated
with war at Dos Pilas: The original STAR WARS
In Dos Pilas a 2001 tropical storm uncovered yet another
hieroglyphic stairway revealing the intrigue of historical
warfare between two super powers: Tikal and Calakmul.
The Text reveals that Dos Pilas played a major role in the
warfare that raged between the two Maya City States during
the 7th century. Before the reading of these new glyphs by
Federico Fahsen, a Guatemala expert on Maya writing, it was
believed that the first ruler of Dos Pilas was always a rival
to Tikal. Now it is known that he was a brother to the ruler
of Tikal. Together, they built Dos Pilas at the site of Petexbatun
(70 miles south of Tikal) in order to control the trade of
the area and beyond.
Not until now can we know that when Calakmul (130 miles North
of Dos Pilas) conquered Dos Pilas’s ruler, Bajaj Chan,
he renounced his family ties and became Tikal’s rival.
As taken from the Nation Geographic article Sept 2002 ”Federico
Fahsen, an expert in the interpretation of Maya hieroglyphs,
said the text carved into the staircase of a pyramid at Dos
Pilas in Guatemala is unusual because it documents not only
the city’s triumphs but also its setbacks and tragedies.”
