Carlos Augusto Aldana Alarcón
Languages: Spanish
Carlos has been on many of Guatemala's adventure expeditions.
He has always loved his country, and during his career as
an Industrial Technician he explored Guatemala and ascended
37 volcanoes, 13 of them over 3,000 ft. high. In 1983 he decided
to diversify his abilities and began taking classes to become
a tour guide in Guatemala. He graduated with certificates
in General Cultural Guide and Ecological Guide for tourism
of Guatemala in 1996 and 1998, and he continues studying a
variety of topics.
He has been guiding Spanish groups since 1996 and continues
to add to his repertoire of skills, recently completing a
mountaineering seminar given by the University of Mexico in
March of 1999. His classes and work with the Guatemalan fire
and rescue dept. give him the knowledge to lead any group
anywhere.
